(Captain) Erik Damgaard, Store Nordiske Telegraph Company, Hong Kong
Damgaard, along with 2nd Engineer Harley & Sub-Lt Forster, & were hit by machine-gun fire from the pillbox (12) on the south-west base of Brick Hill while crewing the launch of HMS Cornflower taking Admiral Chan Chak and his party down Aberdeen Channel out of Hong Kong as the Colony succumbed to the overwhelming forces of the Imperial Japanise army.
Damgaard was shot through both legs. S. K. Yee wrote in a newspaper article that he and Damgaard made it ashore during the night and that he left Damgard with local Chinese before making his way to Chungking via Kukong.
There is no other record found to date of Damgaard beyond this period in Hong Kong.
